“Live the Questions now” – Rilke

Just wanted to post a short musing of sorts to say that I have never been so overwhelmed in my life.  Between the project of learning Arabic, preparing to move from place-to-place, lengthy training sessions on safety or transportation or even food and “proper” toiletry techniques (that are probably not so “proper” to your average American), I’m just completely overwhelmed.

And yet, “overwhelmed” has never really been such a good thing before.  I’m learning to love the discomfort, “to live the questions,” so to speak, and I think that’s a really good thing.

Tomorrow is our last full day in Mehdya.  It’s unbelievable, really, that it’s gone by so quickly.  Hope you got a chance to check out the pictures on Flickr.  I’ll probably post a few more of Mehdya, but the next to come will hopefully be from Fez, with my small group (that will learn Arabic together).  Much more exciting news to come.  I hope wherever you are, you will “live wildly” and be uncomfortable.  Do something that scares you.
